In accordance with the norms of international humanitarian law, the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Missing Persons and Hostages (State Commission) carried out activities in cooperation with the Representation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Azerbaijan in the field of releasing citizens taken as prisoners and hostages, as well as searching for missing persons as a result of Armenia's military aggression against Azerbaijan.

Since the beginning of the conflict, family members of prisoners of war, hostages, and missing persons have been received by both organizations, their appeals and raised issues have been considered, necessary measures have been taken, lists have been clarified, information has been exchanged, and social and psychological support has been provided to families, including persons released from captivity or hostage situations.

In connection with the upcoming termination of the ICRC Representation's activities in the Republic of Azerbaijan, we inform the families of missing citizens that the State Commission and relevant state bodies are taking urgent measures to determine the fate of our missing citizens. In particular, search, excavation and exhumation work is being intensively carried out in territories liberated from occupation, identification of discovered remains, as well as the transfer of identified remains of missing martyrs to their families.

We inform you that, as before, the Working Group of the State Commission considers citizens' appeals, maintains daily contact with them, and continues to receive them in the Working Group.
