The flag of Azerbaijan has been raised at the NATO Maritime Security Center of Excellence

On June 2, the State Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan was raised during a ceremony at the NATO Maritime Security Centre of Excellence (NATO Maritime Security Centre of Excellence) located in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey.
This was reported by the Media and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.
During the ceremony, which was attended by the Centre's personnel, the State Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan was raised to the sounds of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Head of the NATO Maritime Security Centre of Excellence, Captain 1st Rank Mehmet Cengiz Ekren emphasized the role of maritime security in global trade, international cooperation, and collective security, noting its crucial importance in today's globalizing world. It was emphasized that the acceptance of the Republic of Azerbaijan as the fifth member of the NATO Maritime Security Centre of Excellence is an important process and demonstrates a commitment to shaping the future of maritime security together with the current member countries - Turkey, Greece, Portugal, and Romania.
The speech confidently noted that Captain 3rd Rank Murad Eldar oglu Muradov, who has been appointed for a three-year term starting in 2025 to the position of "EDU/007 - Staff Officer for Education" at the NATO Maritime Security Centre of Excellence, will successfully apply the experience gained during his service in his country.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Azerbaijani officer was presented with a commemorative gift in honor of the Republic of Azerbaijan's joining the activities of the NATO Maritime Security Centre of Excellence.
