The first meeting of heads of religious structures of OTS member countries is being held in Shusha
The first meeting of heads of state structures on religious affairs of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) countries is being held in Shusha.
As reported by Oxu.Az, the event is attended by OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev, as well as representatives of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
The meeting will address areas of cooperation in the regulation of state-religious relations, education, legislation, and administrative training. In addition, the parties will discuss issues of protection, restoration, and international promotion of monuments reflecting the common religious and cultural heritage of Turkic peoples.
The agenda also includes topics of promoting inter-madhhab understanding, interfaith dialogue, Islamic solidarity, as well as the exchange of experience and information in the field of combating religious radicalism and extremism.
One of the main topics of the meeting is the establishment of a permanent cooperation mechanism within the OTS between state structures responsible for religious affairs.
A communiqué is expected to be signed at the conclusion of the event.
