The draft constitutional law regarding Corsica is supported in the parliament of Azerbaijan

The Support Group for the Corsican People of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan welcomed the adoption by the French National Assembly of a draft constitutional law on the special autonomous status of Corsica.

As reported by the press service of the Milli Majlis, the corresponding statement was issued by the Support Group for the Corsican People.

The statement notes that the draft law provides for the expansion of Corsica's self-governance powers, taking into account the historical, cultural, social, and geographical characteristics of the island, and represents an important political outcome of the Corsican people's long-standing peaceful and democratic struggle.

The group also expressed hope that the French Senate would support the decision of the National Assembly, and declared its intention to continue promoting an objective assessment by the international community of the legitimate rights, democratic will, and peaceful political struggle of the Corsican people.
