The creation of an electrical connection along the Eastern Zangezur - Nakhchivan route with a capacity of 1,000 MW is being discussed.
Azerbaijan is considering the construction of a 200 MW solar power plant (SPP).
As reported by Oxu.Az, this was announced by Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov at the 1st meeting of energy ministers of the member states of the Developing Eight (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation, held within the framework of the 31st Baku Energy Forum.
The head of the ministry noted that currently, cooperation in the electricity sector is carried out through transmission lines with a capacity of 500 MW.
"In addition, the establishment of an electrical interconnection along the East Zangezur - Nakhchivan route with a capacity of 1,000 MW is being discussed. At the same time, cooperation in the fields of electric power and renewable energy is developing, and within this framework, the construction of a 200 MW solar power plant is being considered," P. Shahbazov added.
