Sweden temporarily relocated the embassy operations from Tehran to Baku
Sweden has evacuated its diplomats from Iran; the diplomatic mission continues operating from Baku.
As reported by BAKU.WS, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard wrote about this on her social media page on X.
"Given the deteriorating security situation in Iran, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to temporarily relocate Swedish embassy staff from Tehran. The embassy continues to operate from Baku. The security situation in Tehran remains highly uncertain. The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recommended refraining from any travel to the Islamic Republic of Iran since 2022 and urges Swedish citizens to leave the country," the head of the ministry stated.
Med hänsyn till det försämrade säkerhetsläget i Iran har UD beslutat att tillfälligt omlokalisera Sveriges utsända vid ambassaden i Teheran. Ambassaden är fortsatt verksam från Baku.
