Survivor of the air crash in Aktau: At first we thought that a flock of birds hit the plane's engine

One of the 29 people who miraculously survived the plane crash that occurred on December 25, 2024, is Togrul Jafarov, a resident of Ganja. He was heading to visit a friend living in Grozny when he experienced the most terrifying day of his life.

"At first we thought that a flock of birds had hit the plane's engine. Then the impacts were repeated a second and third time, after which the plane changed course and headed to another city. At the moment of impact with the ground, I lost consciousness.

A guy named Zamin, whom I met on the plane, got out first, and then saved me. After that, we together helped 6-7 more passengers to get out. About 10 minutes later, help arrived," said T. Jafarov.

He also expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased.

"May Allah give patience to the families of those who died. Among the survivors there are people with disabilities, there are those who have lost their ability to work. But if today we are alive and can stand on our feet - we should already be grateful for that. Special thanks to the state for the support provided to us," noted the eyewitness of the plane crash.

According to T. Jafarov, the surviving passengers continue to keep in touch with each other: "We have a common chat, we communicate. It feels as if we have known each other for many years."
