State Commission: Remains of 267 missing persons from the First and Second Karabakh Wars handed over to families

To date, the remains of 267 people who went missing during the First and Second Karabakh Wars have been handed over to their families.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons.

This year, the remains of 85 people have been handed over to their families. Of these, 21 were reburied in August, and 64 between January and August.

To date, the remains of 910 people have been discovered and exhumed. Of these, 5 were discovered in August of this year, and 79 in the period from January to August of this year.

As a result of DNA testing and forensic examinations, the identities of 328 missing persons have been established, including 57 people in the first eight months of this year.

In addition, to date, 32 mass graves have been discovered in the liberated territories, and 4,010 Azerbaijani citizens have been registered as missing.
