Pakistan welcomes the historic peace agreement signed between the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) and the Republic of Armenia (RA) at the White House summit under the auspices of US President Donald Trump

"This important event marks the beginning of a new era of peace, stability and cooperation in the South Caucasus - a region that has experienced decades of conflict and human suffering.

We congratulate President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on this historic agreement, which reflects wisdom and foresight in charting a course for a peaceful future for their region. Pakistan has always supported the brotherly people of Azerbaijan, and we support them in this glorious moment of their history.

We also highly appreciate the mediating role of the United States under the leadership of President Donald Trump in bringing the two sides closer together and concluding an agreement that opens new opportunities for trade, interaction and regional integration. We hope that this spirit of dialogue will serve as an example for other regions facing protracted conflicts," the post says.
