Azerbaijan has strengthened its role as a strategic bridge between Europe and Asia.

As reported by Report, this was stated by Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev at the 28th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB).

According to him, in recent years Azerbaijan has been consistently implementing reforms to diversify the economy, strengthen fiscal sustainability, and stimulate growth with the private sector playing a leading role.

"Through sustained investments in transport, logistics, and connectivity infrastructure, the country has further strengthened its role as a strategic bridge between Europe and Asia," Babayev said.

The minister noted that the BSTDB's results for the past year are impressive: 31 new projects were approved totaling more than €668 million — an 81% increase compared to the previous year, and the operational portfolio reached approximately €1.5 billion.

"These achievements demonstrate the bank's ability to respond flexibly and effectively to the changing needs of member countries while remaining committed to its development mission," he added.
