Sadyr Japarov: Decisions of the 1st Turkological Congress contributed to the integration of Turkic peoples
The foundation of the intellectual revival of the Turkic world under the motto "Unity in language, thoughts, and deeds" was laid 100 years ago in Baku.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated in the address of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to the participants of the "Turkic World Week" in Baku, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress.
Japarov recalled that, despite the complex political situation of that time, broad discussions were held at the First Turkological Congress in Baku on issues related to Turkic languages, terminology, orthography, as well as the transition from Arabic script to the Latin alphabet.
"This undoubtedly had historical significance in terms of brotherhood and its further strengthening. The decisions made at the Congress contributed to the integration of Turkic peoples into the world community. The legacy of the First Turkological Congress remains relevant to this day and serves as an important guideline for the development of scientific, cultural, humanitarian, and strategic cooperation among Turkic peoples," the address states.
