Rovshan Mamedov: AzTV will continue to respond to Iranian information attacks
The head of Azerbaijan Television, Rovshan Mammadov, commented on the decision of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence to include AzTV in the list of "media organizations hostile to Iran," stating that the channel has always adhered to the principles of objective journalism.
In the analytical program Həftə on AzTV, Mammadov noted that from the first days of the 44-day Patriotic War, Iranian media waged a campaign of disinformation and information attacks against Azerbaijan.
According to him, Azerbaijani media, on the contrary, cover events related to Iran exclusively in accordance with journalistic standards, without resorting to the dissemination of false information.
Mammadov emphasized that the decision of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence to include AzTV in the list of "hostile media organizations" is surprising, as the reasons for such a step remain unknown.
He suggested that the reason could have been fact-based materials by AzTV, in which the channel refuted disinformation from Iranian media against Azerbaijan during the 44-day war and in subsequent years.
According to the head of AzTV, Azerbaijan Television, which has nearly a century-long history, will continue to respond to any information attacks against the country, regardless of their source.
