Rossbach: UN-Habitat is grateful to Azerbaijan for hosting WUF13 during a period of global crises

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is grateful to Azerbaijan for hosting the World Urban Forum (WUF13) during a period of global crises and rapid changes.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by UN-Habitat Executive Director Anaclaudia Rossbach at a press conference dedicated to the opening of WUF13 in Baku.

According to her, the forum is taking place at a turning point for cities and communities, when the scale of modern challenges requires faster, more coordinated, and more inclusive solutions.

"We have gathered here in Baku at the invitation of the Government of Azerbaijan at a time when the future of cities is being shaped both by crises and new opportunities," Rossbach said.

She emphasized that UN-Habitat highly values Azerbaijan's role in organizing the forum and promoting international cooperation in the field of sustainable urban development.

"We are grateful to Azerbaijan for its leadership in organizing this global platform and for its commitment to advancing dialogue and cooperation in the field of sustainable urban development," added the UN-Habitat Executive Director.

According to her, hosting the forum in Baku reflects Azerbaijan's role in advancing global dialogue on sustainable urban development and strengthening cooperation between regions.
