Representatives of the UN sent congratulatory letters to President Ilham Aliyev

Representatives of the United Nations (UN) sent congratulatory letters to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
As AZERTAJ reports, the message from the Secretary-General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development, Rebeca Grynspan, states:
"Your Excellency,
I express my most sincere congratulations on the recently achieved agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, which indicates a clear path to normalization of relations and lasting peace in the future. This success is a historic milestone, reflecting the courage and foresight of all who worked tirelessly to achieve this agreement.
The benefits of peace extend far beyond politics. Improved transport connections, deepened regional integration, and the development of open and sustainable trade routes can catalyze economic diversification, stable growth, and social development. The UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is ready to assist in attracting investments, building productive capacity, and broadly distributing the dividends of peace among all communities. I especially welcome the potential of the agreement's provisions to transform the region, including border delimitation, security cooperation, and normalization of relations, creating a solid foundation for sustainable peace.
As the head of UNCTAD, I view this document not only as a diplomatic milestone but also as a path to sustainable development and regional cooperation. Strengthening trade corridors, developing infrastructure, and economic ties are vital for accelerating progress in the region, increasing investment volumes, and improving living conditions. I highly appreciate your leadership and strategic vision in utilizing this historic opportunity. UNCTAD remains committed to supporting Azerbaijan and a wider range of regional partners in transforming this opportunity into inclusive and sustainable development outcomes. In this direction, we are very satisfied with the strong and constructive cooperation with the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, which has brought important results at the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development in Seville. We look forward to strengthening these initiatives in September within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly to promote more inclusive, sustainable, and long-term development.
With best wishes for further progress on the path to peace, stability, and universal prosperity.
Your Excellency, please accept the assurances of my highest consideration."
Additionally, the letter from the UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, notes:
"Your Excellency,
I express my sincere congratulations on the occasion of signing the Joint Declaration with the Republic of Armenia, which is an important step towards normalizing relations between the two countries. This historic achievement demonstrates courage, wisdom, and commitment to creating peace, stability, and future cooperation for the peoples of the region. It is also an important message to the international community that dialogue and diplomacy remain the strongest tools for solving even the most complex problems.
As you move forward on this important path, I am confident that the Joint Declaration will play a key role in building trust, strengthening mutual understanding, and opening new opportunities for development and prosperity in the South Caucasus.
The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations remains committed to supporting and cooperating in opening a new page in relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia.
Your Excellency, please accept my most sincere congratulations and best wishes for continued success in your efforts."
In addition, the message from the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, Vladanka Andreeva, states:
"Your Excellency.
On behalf of the United Nations representation in Azerbaijan, I convey to you sincere congratulations on the successful signing of the Joint Declaration with the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan. This important agreement is a historic milestone in normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, while it promises to ensure lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
The United Nations strongly supports all efforts aimed at establishing peace, dialogue, and trust in the region. We appreciate your commitment and Prime Minister Pashinyan's commitment to ongoing dialogue, as well as your courage and leadership in peacefully resolving long-standing issues.
Taking this pleasant opportunity, I once again emphasize the United Nations' firm commitment to continuing partnership and cooperation with Azerbaijan, in particular, through the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework covering 2026-2030. The Cooperation Framework, which is currently being developed in close cooperation with the Government of Azerbaijan, will continue to align with national development priorities and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
This document will serve as a platform for strategic cooperation, supporting Azerbaijan's inclusive soc
