Religious organizations in Azerbaijan will receive financial assistance - DECREE

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) Ilham Aliyev signed an order on providing financial assistance to religious formations in the AR.

As reported by AZERTAG, the document states:

"Guided by paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in order to support the activities of religious denominations in the country, further development of interfaith harmony, structuring religious education work in accordance with modern requirements, and strengthening activities in promoting progressive spiritual and moral values, I decree:

1. to provide financial assistance to religious formations in Azerbaijan from the reserve fund of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan provided in the state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026, to allocate to the Caucasus Muslims Board 3.5 million (three million five hundred thousand) manats, to the religious formation of the Baku and Azerbaijan Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church - 400.0 (four hundred) thousand manats, to the Religious Community of Mountain Jews of Baku - 400.0 (four hundred) thousand manats, to the Baku Religious Community of European Jews - 400.0 (four hundred) thousand manats, to the Baku Religious Community of Sephardic Jews - 400.0 (four hundred) thousand manats, to the religious formation of the Apostolic Prefecture of the Catholic Church in the Republic of Azerbaijan - 400.0 (four hundred) thousand manats, and to the Albanian-Udi Christian Religious Community of the Republic of Azerbaijan - 400.0 (four hundred) thousand manats, as well as to the Foundation for the Promotion of Spiritual Values under the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Work with Religious Formations for the purpose of material support for other non-Islamic religious communities - 400.0 (four hundred) thousand manats.

2. The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall ensure financing in the amount specified in part 1 of this order.
