The Prosecutor General's Office will file an appellate protest against the verdict of Rasim Hasanov, who was released in the courtroom.

It is noted that by the verdict of the Baku Military Court dated August 18, 2026, Rasim Alovsat oglu Hasanov, who was charged under Articles 311.3.2, 311.3.3, 313, and 341.2.3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (RA) based on the results of a preliminary investigation conducted by the Main Anti-Corruption Directorate under the Prosecutor General, was brought to trial, and the criminal case was referred to the Baku Military Court for consideration.

"The prosecutor who supported the state prosecution in court proposed in his speech to sentence Rasim Hasanov to 10 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold managerial and financially responsible positions in state bodies and local self-government bodies for a period of 3 years.

It is noted that by the verdict of the Baku Military Court, the actions of Rasim Alovsat oglu Hasanov were reclassified under Articles 178.2.2, 178.2.3, and 178.2.4 of the Criminal Code of the RA, and he was sentenced to a fine of 7,000 manats. Taking into account the period of his detention, the fine amount was reduced to 5,000 manats.

After the verdict is delivered to the state prosecutor, the issue of filing an appellate protest will be decided," the statement said.

The trial in the criminal case of the former chairman of the Central Military Medical Commission (MMC) of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, Rasim Hasanov, has concluded.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to APA, the verdict was read out at the hearing in the Baku Military Court presided over by Judge Anar Rzayev.

According to the verdict, the charges brought against Rasim Hasanov were reclassified under Article 178.3.2 (fraud causing damage on a large scale) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

The court fined him 15,000 manats, after which he was released in the courtroom.

The investigation established reasonable suspicions that Rasim Hasanov, during 2021-2025, abusing his official powers, repeatedly received monetary funds as bribes from various individuals for examining and discharging military personnel who approached him, and also committed official forgery.

Based on the collected evidence, Rasim Hasanov was charged under Articles 311.3.2, 311.3.3 (repeated receipt of bribes on a large scale), 313 (official forgery), and 341.2.3 (abuse of official powers resulting in grave consequences) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and by court decision upon the request of the investigative body and the submission of the prosecutor exercising procedural supervision over the preliminary investigation, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was imposed on him.
