Presidents of Azerbaijan and UAE familiarized themselves with the progress of construction of the New Shusha Mosque

On September 16, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan familiarized themselves with the construction progress of the New Shusha Mosque.

As reported by BAKU.WS, Presidential Assistant Anar Alakbarov informed the head of our state and the President of the United Arab Emirates about the work being carried out.

It should be noted that this mosque, the foundation of which was laid by President Ilham Aliyev in 2021, will stand out as an example of modern architecture in the historical city of Shusha. In accordance with the instructions of the head of our state, the shape of the mosque will reflect the number 8, which, in turn, symbolizes the day of liberation of the city of Shusha from occupiers - Victory Day. The two minarets of the mosque will represent the number 11. This is a symbol of the liberation of the city of Shusha and Karabakh from occupation in the eleventh month. The facade of the mosque, built in the upper part of the city, will be decorated with geometric patterns similar to the ornaments of the minarets of the ancient Shusha Mosque.
