President of Uzbekistan: New Tashkent Will Become a True Center of Development
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that New Tashkent will become a true center of development, will adorn the capital, and will demonstrate the strength of the new Uzbekistan.
As reported by Report, the head of state made this statement at a ceremonial event dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.
Mirziyoyev noted that holding the main state holiday in New Tashkent enhances its solemnity.
The day before, the opening of the buildings of the New University of Uzbekistan, the Nizami National Pedagogical University, and the National Library of Uzbekistan took place here. According to the president, in the future this district will become a center of science, education, and culture.
"I am confident that New Tashkent will become a true center of development, will adorn our capital, and will demonstrate the strength of the new Uzbekistan that we are building," Mirziyoyev said.
He also noted that in this district, the country's residents will witness many joyful and historic events.
The ceremony also included the planned opening of a musical fountain, which has been entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest musical fountain in the world.
