The plan to reduce external debt has been fulfilled, I believe. Our external debt stands at 6.1% of GDP.
As reported by AZERTAC, this was stated by President Ilham Aliyev in his speech at the Azerbaijan-Latvia business forum held on April 22 in Baku.
The head of state noted that Azerbaijan's foreign currency and gold reserves exceed the external debt by more than 18 times. "In other words, we can zero out our external obligations probably within a couple of months," the President added.
