President Ilham Aliyev received the Chief of General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Turkish Republic Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu in Shusha on September 15.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAG, expressing gratitude for the reception, Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu conveyed greetings from the President of the Turkish Republic Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the head of our state.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to the President of Turkey.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the brotherly relations and strategic alliance between our countries are successfully developing in all directions, including in the military sphere.

Noting that there are no countries that are as close to each other as Azerbaijan and Turkey, the head of state declared that our unity is an important factor on a global scale. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that an era of peace has already begun in the region.

During the conversation, the significance of signing the Declaration on Allied Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey in 2021 specifically in the city of Shusha was mentioned.

It was noted with satisfaction that today's meeting coincided with September 15 - the 107th anniversary of the liberation of Baku by the Caucasian Islamic Army from the Dashnak-Bolshevik occupation.

During the conversation, opinions were exchanged on the further development of cooperation between the military structures of Azerbaijan and Turkey based on brotherhood and strategic alliance.
