President Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the thoroughly reconstructed Cultural Center in Khankendi

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on May 28 participated in the opening of the thoroughly reconstructed Cultural Center in the city of Khankendi.

As reported by BAKU.WS, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi, Khojaly and Agdere districts Elchin Yusubov informed the head of state about the work carried out.

It should be noted that the Cultural Center building in the city of Khankendi was built in the 1960s-1970s. Due to prolonged use, cracks, deformations and various damages appeared in the load-bearing structures of the building.

As a result of the thorough reconstruction, the Cultural Center has been equipped with the necessary conditions for organizing various cultural and public events, film screenings and stage activities, creative work, classes, administrative management, and the provision of tourist services. The three-story building houses an assembly hall and a cinema hall, a multifunctional area for clubs in various fields, dressing rooms, a buffet, a ticket office and a souvenir shop. The 348-seat hall can host concerts, performances, film screenings, presentations, official meetings and other cultural and public events.

After reconstruction, this center will play an important role in revitalizing the cultural life in Khankendi, a city with a growing population and many students, and will become one of the main venues for holding public events.

Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, in the territories liberated from occupation, along with other areas, special attention is paid to the restoration of our cultural monuments. This primarily testifies to the fact that the Azerbaijani state attaches great importance to the protection of our rich cultural heritage. At the same time, the implementation of such projects demonstrates the scale of construction and restoration work being carried out in the territories liberated from occupation as a whole.
