President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the Jabrayil city mosque
On October 28, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the Jabrayil city mosque.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAJ, the director of PMD Projects Nariman Topchibashev informed the head of state about the upcoming work.
It was reported that the total area of the mosque will be more than 1,530 square meters. It will accommodate 615 people for worship at the same time. In the two-story mosque building, there will be conditions for men and women to perform worship simultaneously.
The height of the mosque's minarets will be 34.2 meters, and the height of the dome will be 22.6 meters. A parking lot and a gazebo will be created on the mosque territory.
Before the occupation, there were 5 mosques, more than 40 places of worship, and over 20 historical and architectural monuments in the Jabrayil region. During the occupation, our historical and religious monuments in this region, as in other regions, were destroyed by Armenians. After the liberation of the lands from occupation, the Azerbaijani state has done extensive work to restore the existing historical, religious, and cultural monuments in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, and to build new mosques. In this regard, one can note the mosque built in 2017 in the village of Jojug Marjanli, which is similar to the Shusha mosque.
