President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev expressed condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the message states:
"Dear Mr. President,
We are deeply saddened by the news of the tragic passing of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
In connection with this grievous loss, we express our deepest condolences to you, the family of the deceased, and the friendly Iranian people, and wish patience and fortitude.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei played an important role in the life of the Iranian state and society for many years and held a special place in the political and religious life of his country. His passing is a great loss for Iran.
On this difficult day, we wish the friendly and brotherly Iranian people peace, stability, and prosperity.
May Allah grant him mercy!"
