President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the head of Timor-Leste

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the letter states:

"Dear Mr. President,

I heartily congratulate you and, through you, all your people, and extend my most sincere wishes on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of independence of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

We are pleased that the relations between Azerbaijan and Timor-Leste are gaining new momentum. We attach great importance to the development of bilateral interstate relations built on a solid foundation and mutual respect, and to enriching our cooperation with new content.

I believe that we will continue our joint efforts aimed at strengthening friendly relations and expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Timor-Leste.

On this significant day, I wish you good health, happiness, success in your endeavors, and to your friendly people - constant peace and prosperity".
