President Ilham Aliyev called Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov

On August 10, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev called the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

As reported by BAKU.WS, during the telephone conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's recent visit to Azerbaijan, including to Karabakh, and the discussions held within this framework were noted with satisfaction.

President Ilham Aliyev and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov touched upon the development of friendly and brotherly relations between our countries.

During the telephone conversation, the significance of the third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries held in the Turkmen city of Avaza was noted. The head of our state congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the successful organization of this event.

The significance of the documents signed during President Ilham Aliyev's visit to the United States was touched upon, in particular, the Declaration signed by the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia with the witness of the US President, the initialing of the Agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the joint appeal on the abolition of the OSCE Minsk Group, in ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region.

Noting the special role of US President Donald Trump in achieving these results, the head of our state expressed confidence that unhindered transport communication, which will serve to establish a connection between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan region, will contribute to the prosperity of the entire region.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the head of our state and the people of Azerbaijan on reaching historic agreements.

President Ilham Aliyev asked to convey his greetings to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the head of our state.
