Azerbaijan and China have big plans to increase trade volume.

As reported by AZERTAJ, this was stated by President Ilham Aliyev during his speech at the III Shusha Global Media Forum.

"In this case, there is enormous potential for this. Container trains are already being sent from many Chinese cities to Azerbaijan and through Azerbaijan to the West. Their number is growing from year to year, by tens of percent. I think in the near future this will increase several times," emphasized the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan has supported Chinese President Xi Jinping's "One Belt, One Road" initiative from the very beginning and has prepared the appropriate transport and logistics infrastructure on the country's territory.

"Chinese companies are actively participating as contractors in the implementation of solar power plant projects. The solar panels purchased by investing companies are of Chinese production. And recently, we have also begun to cooperate with Chinese companies in the production of green energy - solar and wind. Relevant agreements have already been signed, and I think this will also be a good addition to our mutually beneficial cooperation," noted President Ilham Aliyev.
