President Ilham Aliyev awarded the "Zayed Award for Human Fraternity" 2026
The influential Zayed Foundation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced the recipients of the "Zayed Award for Human Fraternity" for 2026.
As reported by AZERTAG, among those honored with the award is the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
This was announced on the official website of the Sheikh Zayed Foundation.
The information notes that this award is given for the initialing of the "Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia," which ended decades of conflict and humanitarian suffering in the Caucasus.
The 2026 laureates were selected by an independent international jury consisting of renowned personalities and specialists in the field of dialogue and coexistence.
Member of the jury for the "Zayed Award for Human Fraternity" and Secretary-General of the Award Mohammed Abdulsalam said: "This year, the committee of the 'Zayed Award for Human Fraternity' selected the historic peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This treaty embodies the mission and goals of the award in promoting and developing a culture of dialogue and coexistence. It is considered an important milestone in advancing global peace and a major diplomatic achievement."
The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Abu Dhabi (UAE) on February 4 of this year.
