We are working with our partners in Central Asia on a project to lay a fiber-optic cable along the bottom of the Caspian Sea, which should be ready this year. We are also considering new opportunities after achieving peace with Armenia.

As reported with reference to AZERTAC, President Ilham Aliyev stated this in Munich during a panel discussion on the topic "Open Corridors Policy? Deepening Trans-Caspian Cooperation."

"After achieving peace with Armenia, the corridor leading to Armenia through Azerbaijan and then to Europe also has enormous potential in terms of cargo traffic volume," the head of state added.
