President: Azerbaijan is the only country in our broader region that is not dependent on energy imports

In the broader region where Azerbaijan is located, we are the only country that does not depend on imports of any type of energy resources. We provide ourselves with oil, gas, petroleum products, petrochemical industry products, electricity, and export everything I just mentioned. Thus, our goal is also to increase exports, which will certainly be very beneficial for many countries.

As reported by BAKU.WS, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated this at a meeting with a delegation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

"By the way, today we export natural gas via pipelines to sixteen countries of the world and rank first in the world in pipeline gas coverage. But along with this, we want to use our energy potential to attract leading American companies and companies from other countries as our partners in the field of artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

As for fossil fuels, which have been discriminated against for many years for certain political reasons, we are pleased that President Trump's policy, as in all other areas, is based on a realistic scenario, is far from populism, and is based on the existing situation on the ground. The world cannot live without fossil fuels, and countries rich in fossil fuels should not be condemned for this," the head of state emphasized.
