Political scientist: Azerbaijan consistently demonstrates the ability to decisively defend its national interests

Since the moment of the plane crash, the Azerbaijani state and the Azerbaijani people have demonstrated unity, putting forward demands for compensation payments and a full public explanation of all circumstances of the incident.

These were both legally substantiated demands and conditions aimed at ensuring fair and adequate compensation. It was precisely the will and unity of the Azerbaijani side that made it possible to secure the opposite side's acceptance of these conditions.

This was stated in a commentary to BAKU.WS by Doctor of Philosophy in Political Sciences, political analyst Shabnam Hasanova.

According to her, this is confirmed by the meeting of the heads of the two states held in Dushanbe. During this meeting, corresponding agreements were reached on key issues. This once again proves that any complex and delicate problem can be resolved when there is political will, mutual respect, and mutual understanding.

"Undoubtedly, special mention should be made here of the firm political will, strategic vision, and direct oversight of the process by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. It was precisely Azerbaijan's principled position that has led to real results being achieved today in the direction of restoring justice, with concrete steps taken to determine responsibility and ensure full transparency."

In the political analyst's opinion, Azerbaijan under no circumstances retreated from its principled position, resolutely defended its national interests, and, relying on the norms of international law, achieved a fair resolution of the compensation issue.

"Furthermore, throughout the entire period that has passed, the fate of the persons affected by the crash has consistently remained at the center of attention. In this context, the compensation carries not only legal but also profound humanitarian significance, once again demonstrating the importance that the state attaches to the human factor and the principle of justice.
