Today, the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) kicked off at the Baku Olympic Stadium.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, the forum, which will run until May 22, is organized jointly by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the government of Azerbaijan.

WUF13 is considered one of the most important international platforms that will once again draw the world's attention to Azerbaijan.

The registration of more than 40,000 participants from 182 countries is regarded as a record-breaking figure in the history of the forum. This testifies to the growing global authority of the event and the high international interest in Azerbaijan.

As part of the event, special attention will be given to the large-scale reconstruction and urban development projects being implemented by Azerbaijan in Karabakh and East Zangezur.

WUF13 once again demonstrates Azerbaijan's growing experience in organizing international events and the country's role on global cooperation platforms. Hosting the forum in Baku holds special significance both in terms of strengthening the country's international authority and in terms of presenting to the world the policies pursued by Azerbaijan in the areas of sustainable development and modern urban planning.
