Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed satisfaction with the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, calling the process a positive step toward strengthening security in the region and developing regional cooperation.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Mehr agency, Pezeshkian said this during a meeting with Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan in Tehran.

Emphasizing the opportunities for expanding cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, Pezeshkian added:

"We must advance through constructive engagement to build a world where nations live side by side in conditions of peace, mutual respect, and tranquility."

He noted that developing relations with neighbors is one of the main priorities of Iran's foreign policy. Emphasizing Iran's principled approach to regional development, Pezeshkian stated: "Our fundamental policy is to support peace, stability, and sustainable security in the region. We are in no way proponents of instability or tension, as any instability will harm all countries in the region."
