Pensions in Azerbaijan are indexed and increased by 9.3% - OFFICIAL
Pensions in Azerbaijan are being increased from January 1 of this year through indexation by 9.3% in accordance with the average monthly wage growth rate for 2025.
This is reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
By a new decree of President Ilham Aliyev "On the Indexation of Labor Pensions," the ministry is increasing all pensions assigned before January 1, 2026, based on data provided by the State Statistics Committee.
The increase is carried out automatically through the electronic system - without the need for pensioners to apply or submit any documents.
"The increased pensions for January will be paid together with the February pension. Thus, pensioners will receive their February pension already taking into account the new increase, as well as the supplementary payment for January. The indexation and pension increase applies to all pensioners (including military pensioners, law enforcement officers, etc.), that is, to 1.1 million pensioners, and an additional 640 million manats annually has been allocated for these increases," the information states.
It is also noted that by the decree of the head of state, pension capitals recorded in the individual accounts of insured persons before January 1, 2026, are also being increased through indexation by 5.6% in accordance with the annual consumer price index level for last year.
"The increase applied at the beginning of each year shows that the pension capitals of persons participating in the social insurance system are increased not only through social insurance contributions from their wages but are also indexed and increased by the state annually."
