OIC condemned provocations against normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia
The Western Azerbaijan Community strongly condemns the provocative actions recently directed against the process of normalizing Azerbaijani-Armenian relations in Armenia and a number of other countries.
This is stated in the Community's statement.
"These days, against the backdrop of the meeting between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Abu Dhabi, which took place in a positive spirit, the adoption by the French Senate of a resolution calling for the release of war criminals who committed grave crimes against the Azerbaijani people, the meeting of a Swiss parliament member in Armenia with individuals claiming to be 'leaders' of the illegal puppet entity, as well as statements that 'the Karabakh issue is not yet closed,' are manifestations of deliberate provocations," the statement notes.
The Community emphasized that such actions are aimed at undermining peace efforts.
"It is puzzling why the French parliament, which constantly appeals to the principles of 'liberty, equality and fraternity,' has never spoken out about the tragedies, deportations and genocide faced by Western Azerbaijanis, as well as the systematic destruction in Armenia of traces of the Azerbaijani people and their rich historical and cultural heritage," the document emphasizes.
The Western Azerbaijan Community believes that first and foremost, Armenia must eliminate on its territory all so-called 'institutions' of the illegal puppet regime that is already in the past, and also issue statements condemning the actions of extra-regional forces obstructing the establishment of lasting peace in the region.
