A new supercomputer with a computational power of 1.2 petaflops (PFLOPS, a unit of measurement for computer system performance equal to one quadrillion (10^15) floating-point operations per second - ed.) will become one of the key pillars of Azerbaijan's innovation ecosystem.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov at the INMerge Innovation Summit, taking place in Baku organized by PASHA Holding LLC.

"This enormous computational power will ensure fast processing of large-scale operations and complex analysis, creating new opportunities for the digitalization of the economy, automation, and implementation of intelligent manufacturing systems," noted the minister.

M. Jabbarov emphasized that not only government structures but also representatives of the private sector, academic community, and civil society will be able to use the supercomputer's capabilities:

"The democratization of access to high-performance computing resources will expand knowledge sharing, improve forecasting, and strengthen evidence-based decision-making. This step will significantly advance our innovation-based development strategy and take Azerbaijan's competitiveness to a new level on a global scale."
