Military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan discussed

First Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan - Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Kerim Veliyev received the Commander of the Pakistan Navy, Admiral Navid Ashraf and the delegation headed by him.
This was reported by the Media and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.
Before the meeting, the guests visited the Alley of Martyrs, where they honored the memory of heroic sons who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, laid flowers on their graves and a wreath at the "Eternal Flame" memorial.
Then a meeting was held at the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army. Welcoming the guests, Colonel General Kerim Veliyev noted that the ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan have deep historical roots and emphasized the high level of development of bilateral military cooperation.
N.Ashraf thanked for the reception and hospitality, expressing confidence that mutual visits will make a positive contribution to the development of bilateral military cooperation.
At the meeting, the importance of conducting joint exercises to enhance the professionalism of naval personnel of Azerbaijan and Pakistan was especially noted, the parties held a wide and constructive exchange of views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
