Mehriban Aliyeva participated in a special session within the framework of the UN General Assembly

On September 24 in New York, as part of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, a special session was organized entitled "Global Movement to Improve Survival and Reduce Suffering for Children with Cancer and Other Catastrophic Diseases".
As reported by BAKU.WS, the First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and her daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva attended the event organized by the Republic of Uzbekistan and the World Health Organization.

One of the event organizers - the First Lady of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ziroatkhon Mirziyoyeva and the Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus spoke about the global relevance of the topic on the agenda of the special session.
The First Lady of Turkey Emine Erdogan and other speakers also expressed their views on the topic.
It was noted that the main goal of organizing the session was to draw the attention of the world community to this global problem and remind people of its dangers. The urgency of the problem increases year by year. According to statistics, about 200,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer annually, and half of them die.
The event continued with panel sessions.
