Leyla Aliyeva and Alena Aliyeva visited the Shah Abbas Mosque in Ganja.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the mosque was built in 1606 by order of the Safavid ruler Shah Abbas I based on the design of architect Sheikh Bahauddin Muhammad Amili. This monument, located in the center of Ganja, embodies the portal-dome traditions of medieval Azerbaijani architecture, with concise and expressive artistic and structural features.
At the conclusion, Leyla Aliyeva and Alena Aliyeva were presented with a Holy Quran as a gift.
It should be noted that the mosque was restored in 2008 at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev.
