On August 23 in Tashkent, following the meetings between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in one-on-one and extended formats, an important ceremony took place.

As reported by the Baku TV correspondent dispatched to Tashkent, Shavkat Mirziyoyev was awarded one of the highest state honors of our country - the "Heydar Aliyev" Order - for outstanding contributions to the development of relations of friendship, brotherhood, and alliance between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

The fact that the "Heydar Aliyev" Order bears the name of the national leader is one of the indicators that relations between the two brotherly countries are built on political legacy and mutual trust.

A signing ceremony of a number of documents covering cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in various spheres followed. The documents address such areas as cinematography, investments, trade, economy, youth policy, and inter-municipal cooperation.

The most important documents were signed at the level of heads of state.
