Jeyhun Bayramov discussed regional tensions with Abbas Araghchi

Telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Seyed Abbas Araqi.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

During the telephone conversation, the situation around Iran was discussed.

The Minister stated that the recent tensions in the region are causing concern, and that Azerbaijan has always emphasized the need for all parties to refrain from steps and rhetoric that could lead to instability in and around Iran.

It was noted that it is important to resolve existing issues only in accordance with the norms and principles of international law, through dialogue and diplomatic methods.

It was especially emphasized that Azerbaijan would never allow its airspace or territory to be used by any state to conduct military operations against neighboring Iran or any other country.

During the telephone conversation, there was also an exchange of views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
