Over the past 24 hours, a total of 123 people were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan through the "Astara" border crossing point.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, 54 of them are citizens of Azerbaijan, and 69 are citizens of 17 foreign states.

The Azerbaijani side created all necessary conditions for these individuals to cross the border.

In particular, 18 citizens of Saudi Arabia, 18 from China, 6 from the UAE, 5 from Tajikistan, 4 from Jordan, 3 from Qatar, 3 from Bangladesh, 2 from the Philippines, 2 from Nepal, as well as one citizen each from Italy, Pakistan, Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, France, and Brazil were evacuated to Azerbaijan. The evacuation was carried out in connection with the current situation in Iran.

As a reminder, on February 28, the US and Israel launched a military operation against Iran, carrying out airstrikes on cities across the republic. Iran responded by launching missiles at Israeli territory. In addition, Iran's armed forces attacked 14 US military bases located in Persian Gulf countries.

Due to the situation in the Middle East, some countries in the region temporarily closed their airspace.
