Ilham Aliyev: Water supply of Baku, Sumgayit, Absheron district and 64 settlements will significantly improve

The issue of drinking water in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula has unfortunately been facing us as a serious problem for many years. As I have already noted, certain work has been done in this direction. But I believe the time has come to adopt a large-scale and detailed state program that will cover the city of Baku, its settlements, the city of Sumgayit, and the Absheron district. Some time ago, on my instruction, the process of developing the program began, and it is, one could say, ready. Today we will discuss this program, as well as talk about the work that has been done and what lies ahead.

This was stated by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during his speech at a meeting dedicated to the State Program for improving water supply, rainwater, and wastewater systems in the city of Baku and the Absheron Peninsula for 2026-2035.
