Ilham Aliyev: Transport and energy corridors must also become fiber optic corridors in the future

Modern tendencies and trends in the world are well known. Today, the implementation of artificial intelligence, the creation of data centers, and reforms related to digitalization essentially determine the future development of countries. In Azerbaijan, certain work has been done in this direction. This will be discussed today. The most important thing is to include this issue among the main priorities of our future activities.

President Ilham Aliyev stated this at a meeting dedicated to the unified action plan called "New Digital Architecture of Azerbaijan".

"We have extensive experience in the oil and gas sector, in the field of connectivity - connections with international companies, extensive experience and implementation of giant projects with many countries, because these are issues that require knowledge, skills, technical qualities, as well as broad international connections. Azerbaijan has implemented many important infrastructure projects in various directions with neighboring countries at different times. That is, we have both experience and already established platforms in this area. Transport and energy corridors should also become fiber-optic corridors in the future. Certain work has been done in this direction. During the construction of oil and gas pipelines, this issue was also resolved. But, naturally, this does not meet modern requirements. Therefore, our initiatives in the field of digitalization, artificial intelligence, and the creation of data centers should ensure the long-term, sustainable development of our country," the head of state noted.
