Ilham Aliyev: Strong political will is needed to achieve peace
We are learning to live in peace. Believe me, it's a pleasant feeling. You feel that the war is over, there are no new victims, no blood is being shed.
As BAKU.WS reports, this was stated by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during the reception on January 9 of the Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders Mohammed Abdel Salam, members of the jury of the "Zayed Award for Human Fraternity" - former President of the Council of the European Union Charles Michel and former Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki.
"You can do more for the people, for the country, for development, prosperity and stability. And again, I believe that the agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the assessment given by such a group of authoritative personalities really show that strong political will is necessary to achieve peace. You must desire it with all your heart. You must do it not in words, but in deeds. And when such efforts are valued, you become even more motivated and send a message of peace to other corners of the global map where people are still dying in wars," emphasized the head of state.
