Ilham Aliyev: Partnership with the world's leading centers of power is our advantage

We have strategic partnership documents with ten member countries of the European Union. Naturally, European companies in this area cannot compete with American ones; they are lagging behind by at least one generation, perhaps. However, certain work is being carried out there as well, and it is necessary to ensure effective cooperation with companies from these countries.

As Oxu.Az reports, President Ilham Aliyev stated this at a meeting dedicated to the unified action plan titled "New Digital Architecture of Azerbaijan."

"Last year we signed a comprehensive strategic partnership document with the People's Republic of China. That is, today we are one of the rare countries in the world that already operates in a strategic partnership format with the world's leading centers of power. This is our advantage. You would have to search to find another country in the world with so many advantages. Therefore, not utilizing them is absolutely unacceptable. Taking all of this into account, issues of unified coordination of work in this direction have been discussed for some time now; at my instruction, an exchange of opinions has been conducted, and today it will be held under my chairmanship. If we consider that this issue, as I have already noted, is a priority, at today's meeting under my chairmanship we must begin preparing a specific action plan related to the upcoming work. We must complete it soon and thus give this direction a more powerful impetus," the head of state noted.
