On September 27, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex.

As AZERTAJ reports, the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gaibov informed the head of state about the conditions created in the complex.

It was reported that the area of the complex, the construction of which began in 2024, is 5.8 hectares. Open sports grounds, a stadium, a universal sports hall for 1100 spectators, halls for wrestling, judo, rhythmic gymnastics, boxing, kickboxing, taekwondo, karate, fitness and gym, and a swimming pool have been created here. In addition, the complex will have a meeting hall, cafe, rooms for judges, coaches, doctors, commentators, a restaurant, and a hotel wing with 42 places.

During the III Commonwealth of Independent States Games, which will be held in Azerbaijan, boxing competitions will be organized at the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex.

As a result of the purposeful work carried out in recent years in the sports field, Azerbaijan has become one of the main centers for hosting international competitions. The successful organization of such prestigious events as world and European championships in various sports, as well as the first European Games, Islamic Solidarity Games, Formula 1 races, demonstrated Azerbaijan's high organizational abilities in this field. Holding the III Commonwealth of Independent States Games in Azerbaijan also testifies to the trust of the international sports community in our country.

The recognition of Azerbaijan in the world as a sports power, the choice of our country as a venue for prestigious sporting events, is certainly also associated with the creation of modern sports infrastructure both in Baku and in the regions of the republic.
