Ilham Aliyev: In the last 80 years, there has not been a single other country that achieved such a complete and absolute victory as Azerbaijan

You have lived in suffering for many years. The life of a forcibly displaced person is difficult. It involves both moral suffering and physical hardships. Leaving your native land and moving to another place, even if it is in Azerbaijan, living in deprivation — this is a great ordeal. You have come through this ordeal with honor.

President Ilham Aliyev stated this during a meeting with residents of the city of Khojavend and the village of Khojavend.

"I am confident that all the Azerbaijani people, including you, always believed that this day would come and we would liberate these lands, restore justice, and drive the enemy from our lands. As you know, although most of the previously occupied lands were liberated during the Patriotic War five years ago, Khojavend still remained under occupation, and the people of Khojavend also believed that the situation would change one day. I am confident that society believed that not a single inch of land would remain under the enemy's heel, and we achieved this. For more than two years now, we have been in control of the entire territory — the sovereign territory of the Azerbaijani state. We destroyed the last stronghold of the enemy, expelled the separatists, made them answer before the court, and fully restored justice. Therefore, this difficult period is already behind us; it will never return. Today, both our state and our army are strong, and our people have already demonstrated their greatness to the entire world over these years. In the last 80 years, there has not been a single other country that has achieved such a complete and absolute victory as Azerbaijan," the head of state emphasized.
