Ilham Aliyev: In Azerbaijan, ethnic and religious diversity is cherished as a national treasure

It is gratifying that relations between Azerbaijan and the Holy See, based on mutual respect and mutual understanding, are developing on an ascending trajectory and are being filled with new content day by day. As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated in the congratulatory message of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Pope Leo XIV on the occasion of his Coronation Day.

The Head of State noted that in Azerbaijan, recognized as one of the addresses of multiculturalism in the world, ethnic and religious diversity is preserved as a national treasure, and equal conditions are created for all confessions. "We are proud that Azerbaijan is a space where people belonging to different religions and faiths live in an atmosphere of goodwill and mutual understanding. The laying of the foundation of a new Catholic church in the city of Baku is yet another vivid example of interreligious harmony, traditions of multiculturalism and tolerance in our country," the message of President Ilham Aliyev emphasized.
