Ilham Aliyev called Shavkat Mirziyoyev

On August 9, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev called the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

As reported by AZERTAG, during the telephone conversation, the state visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Azerbaijan in early July and the fruitful discussions held within its framework, as well as the agreements reached, were noted with satisfaction.

The importance of documents signed during President Ilham Aliyev's visit to the USA was highlighted, particularly the declaration signed by the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia with the witness of the US President, and other documents, in terms of ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region. It was noted that subsequent steps would create the foundation for signing the final peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and its ratification.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the special role of US President Donald Trump in achieving these results, as well as the importance of agreements on regional transport connections.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in turn, congratulated the head of our state and the people of Azerbaijan on the achievements, noting that this would have a positive impact on the development of the entire region.

During the conversation, the importance of mutual investments between our countries was emphasized, including projects implemented by Uzbekistan in Karabakh, as well as the Production Sharing Agreement between SOCAR, the "Uzbekneftegaz" consortium and the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
