Ilham Aliyev approved the state program for water supply of Baku and the Absheron peninsula
The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) Ilham Aliyev signed an order approving the "State Program for the improvement of water supply, rainwater and wastewater systems in the city of Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula for 2026-2035".
As reported by AZERTAG, the document states:
"Guided by paragraphs 3 and 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in order to improve the infrastructure of water supply, rainwater and wastewater systems in the city of Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula, I decree:
1. to approve the "State Program for the improvement of water supply, rainwater and wastewater systems in the city of Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula for 2026-2035" (hereinafter - the State Program).
2. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall:
2.1. coordinate the implementation of measures provided for in the State Program and exercise control over their execution;
2.2. inform the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan once a year on the status of implementation of measures provided for in the State Program.
2.3. resolve other issues arising from this order.
3. monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of measures provided for in the State Program shall be carried out by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication on the basis of a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
4. The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in accordance with the financing mechanisms of measures provided for in the State Program, shall take appropriate measures to allocate the necessary financial resources in the process of annual preparation of the state budget and state investment programs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as to attract funds from other sources".
